On July of 1978, Sue Wiatt, founder of  "There is More Ministries" was told by the Lord: "There will come a time when the family of There is More will need a place of safety. As Noah began building the Ark, I would have you begin now to prepare a place of refuge for the family. It is to be in the mountains of North Carolina within a 50 mile radius of Lake Junaluska."   The Lord said, "it is to be a place of no charge.. those who can afford to do so will take care of those who cannot."

So in 1979 Sue Wiatt and her group of followers found and purchased the property and established There is More Ministries, Inc. (Living Waters) with the vision of putting on retreats that appeal to many age groups of special needs and interests.

Living Waters is an independent Ministry not associated with any one church or ministry. We operate solely on donations and with volunteer labor. Approximately 150 people can be accomodated at each retreat.

There is More Ministries has a 24 member board who come from many different churches and walks of life. The board meets together on a yearly basis.
